For the price you are looking to spend and the computer you are wanting, there are FAR too many decent "gaming" computers out there.
Many of the popular sites , Dell , HP and the other name brands, will give you a nice selection to choose from for your needs. The name brand sites have an area for returned and refurbished items as well, pretty much used items that still have a warranty, could save some money there. You can also try sites like newegg.com and tigerdirect.com. Tigerdirect allows you to pick a basic computer and add what you want to it, so youre basiclally building your own computer. With a budget of a $1000 you could do some really nice builds. If you want a better computer to start, you may want to get a nicer keyboard, mouse and maybe a monitor at a later time. Whats in your tower is where the power lies, so get a good compture to start, maybe a new monitor, and then at a later time look around the stores for a good deal on a comfy mouse and keyboard.

There is a lot you can do with your budget, so dont take the first deal you find, shop around, compare, maybe pick up a computer magazine that does benchmark tests on items like the CPU, video card, RAM and so on.
But remember, before you buy anything, look to the future, a huge investment now might hurt you later when the new tech comes. As I always tell people, computers age in dog years.

Good luck and happy shopping :)
References :
Hi. If all of your peripherals work OK just get a faster tower. Look at the best GPU you can afford and you'll be happy.
